The DC Police Department is spending lots of money, in terms of time and manpower, on busting prostitutes and johns while, as of August 13, 2015, city officials report 91 homicides — 20 more than this time last year.

Chief Cathy Lanier has offered a few personal opinions as to why the killings have increased, but she’s been careful not to single out just one explanation to account for the spike. According to public records, 19-year-old Zacchaeus Blanding has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man whose burned body was found in a trash can on the morning of June 23 in the 1200 block of Holbrook Terrace in the Northeast section of the city. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said the suspect and the victim, 19-year-old Heineken McNeil, were friends.

Blanding is charged with second-degree murder while armed.

Mayor Muriel Bowser said police have stepped up patrols in the Trinidad neighborhood since the killing. She also said that DC has experienced an increase in violent crime this year, but overall, when you look at our numbers, crime is up by only 1 percent, and when someone is killed, it is our clear message that justice must be served.

Justice must be served! Yeah right Ms. Bowser, tell that to the victim’s family. If you really want Justice served, change the law and sentence these killers to the Death Penalty.  What’s your thoughts DC?

DC Government vehicles allowed to park in the middle of an already congested street, (1100 block of 4th St. Southwest), with impunity from Parking Enforcement officers while tax paying citizens of the District have to troll the surrounding neighborhoods for a place to park or pay to keep from being ticketed and/or towed.       (pictures)

To top that, food trucks are given special parking privileges on city streets by way of Emergency No Parking signs, (permit # PA10168232), posted by the DCRA Vending Program. The signs state that the reason is a “City Event”. City event, from 12/1/14 to 5/29/15, yeah right!   Way to go DC, screw tax paying citizens again because they don’t count right?
