PG Police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill on Saturday, June 15th around 11:14 a.m. during a youth football game.
Responding officers located an adult male in the bleachers suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second victim, a five-year-old child, was also located suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers say the child was driven to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Prince George’s County Police Chief Malik Aziz shared new details on the incident during an afternoon press conference. Aziz stated that it is believed that two individuals, who appeared to know each other, got into a verbal altercation in the bleachers of the game which escalated into the shooting.
