Shooting at youth football game.

PG Police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill on Saturday, June 15th around 11:14 a.m. during a youth football game.

Man killed, child injured during sporting event at Potomac High School,  police sayResponding officers located an adult male in the bleachers suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second victim, a five-year-old child, was also located suffering from a gunshot wound. Scooter Crackdown in D.C.

MPD began random checkpoints last week that resulted in police impounding 167 scooters, issuing 172 citations, and arresting 61 people in the first 10 days of this ramped up enforcement. Most of the arrests were for operating a scooter without a license, and most of the impounded scooters lacked registration.

D.C. police say the message is clear: Scooter drivers must have a registration, drivers license,  and insurance. Read the rest of this entry »
