On Thursday, January 7, 2016, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the appointment of Karima Holmes as interim Director of the DC Office of Unified Communications, better known as DC-911.
In a public hearing held today, by the Committee on the Judiciary, regarding resolution PR21-0545, Karima Holmes was confirmed as Director, to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor. Congratulations!

Today, the Concerned Citizen heard from sources inside the Office of Unified Communications, (DC911). It appears that the new director, Ms. Karima Holmes, is holding true to her word and moving forward to identify and correct internal problems within her agency by scheduling a personal 15 minute meeting for any employee that wants to speak with her to discuss issues and problems that plague the agency.

Private ambulance company starts EMS services in DC tomorrow.
We think that its probably a good deal for citizens and visitors who need fast ems service, but it definitely points out how poor planning and bad management decisions by our elected and appointed city officials have hampered city services over the years.
