The District of Columbia has experienced a significant increase in homelessness and poverty in the last few years. Homelessness in D.C. increased by 6.2% from 2011 to 2012 and now stands at 6,954 individuals, a 9.3% increase since 2008 as recorded by CPPH.
Statistics such as these show the great importance of the services provided by organizations such as Thrive DC, SOME, Street Sense, and others. You can help and show your support for the homeless by donations and/or involvement. SOME | CUM | Thrive DC | Street Sense
