Man shot by police on Xmas Eve

Courtesy of WTOPPeople gathered on Friday to remember a 29 year old male who was suspected of robbery on Dec 24th and was being pursued by police. As the chase ensued, the man turned and began shooting at the officers. One lady at the vigil stated, “They should have attempted to disarm him, not kill him.”Lady Please! The death of anyone is a tragedy, but how can you expect the police to disarm a man who is trying his best to kill them?   What do you think DC?

Big Up’s to the National Park Service

deer-ap_606The National Park Service recently organized a hunt in Rock Creek Park where 55 white-tailed deer were killed to curb overpopulation. As reported by NBC, about 1600 pounds of deer meat was donated to the D.C. Central Kitchen on Tuesday and will be used to make venison chili and Bolognese sauce to help feed the Homeless in our area.

Homeless in DC

Homeless on streets of DCThe District of Columbia has experienced a significant increase in homelessness and poverty in the last few years. Homelessness in D.C. increased by 6.2% from 2011 to 2012 and now stands at 6,954 individuals, a 9.3% increase since 2008 as recorded by CPPH.
